I open this post thinking fondly of Charlottle's Web,and a very catchy song..."The fair is a veritable schmorgasboard-orgasboard-orgasboard!" Loved it! Still do...
But, I said all that to tell you that we went to the FAIR! Pitt County Fair to be exact. My parents took Josh, myself and the grandbabies last friday night. We had a blast!
We began our small town fair experience at 4:00 in the afternoon, when all the crazies had not yet arrived. Cadence was beside herself, and all she could talk about was the Ferris Wheel! But I decided, since it was 90 degrees out in OCTOBER! (Sorry, minor rant) that we needed to wait until it got a little cooler, so we wouldnt be so miserable...So off we went!
Cadence milked a fake cow, rode a variety of different rides (including two roller coasters), hince the faces in the bottom two pictures, and Judah just chilled and enjoyed the stroller ride. I have found that Cadence is pretty fearless when it comes to riding the fair rides, she will do anything once, and for the most part she LOVED every one -EXCEPT- yes, except the dreaded boat ride. She told me she wanted to ride it, I asked her over and over if she was sure, mainly because this was a ride momma couldnt ride with her. She assured me again and again she was, so I gave in...strapped her in and held my breath...about a minute in I could see the terror...poor thing was holding on for dear life and shaking her head no, as the boat swayed left, then right, a left again. To her credit, she never shed a tear, but after the ride stopped and she made her way to my arms, she promptly told me that was the scariest part of the fair and she doesnt want to ride the boat ever again...lol
It was beautiful and we were ready! Cadence, Josh and myslef rode it together, and we had fun! It was neat getting to see the whole fair, with the beautiful lights and all the crazies! haha
We had such a blast! SO thankful for my parents taking us, watching Judah most of the time, and letting us make such memories! Trust me, they are still being talked about (As my jibbering child sits next to me talking about each picture!)
She loves them so much! And now much huge post is over. But i MUST leave you one more Charlotte's Web quote! Your ready? no seriously! its going to be deep! ;) ok, here goes...
“I'm going to make a night of it. The goose was right. This fair is a rat's paradise. What eating! And what drinking! Everywhere is good hiding and good hunting. Bye bye my humble Wilbur. fare thee well, Charlotte, you old schemer. This will be a night to remember in a rat's life.”
